Parking and Transport

The Speirs Centre is right on Featherston Street about 100 metres back from the intersection with Rangitikei Street. It is the first gate into the school and the Centre is about 10metres back from the street. You can either park on the street, in the school grounds or across the road in the Mega car park.

Public Transport
The Speirs Centre is located about 20 minutes’ walk from the Palmerston North train station. For information and timetables for buses in Palmerston North visit the council website


Wheelchair Access
The Speirs Centre is wheelchair accessible and patrons with mobility difficulties are able to be dropped off right outside the entrance to the venue.

Located about 10 minutes’ walk from The Speirs Centre, Café Nero offers a wide range of choices from cuisine around the world in a relaxed setting. Also serves lunch and desserts. Open 11am-3pm Monday – Friday, and 5pm until late Monday – Saturday.

Izakaya Yatai
This Japanese restaurant is right next door to Palmerston North Boys’ High School and is open for lunch and dinner until late Tuesday – Saturday (Monday opening possible for group bookings). The menu offers a range of Japanese pub food including vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and kid’s options.
