Free Pre-Concert Talks

As in previous years, CMNZ will again run free pre-concert talks in Auckland and Palmerston North.
In Auckland, the talks commence at 7pm and are held in The Great Hall at the Auckland Town Hall. The schedule for the 2010 season is:
- Borodin Quartet, Saturday 13 March; Heath Lees: Emeritus Professor, broadcaster, music commentator and author
- NZTrio, Tuesday 20 April; Victoria Kelly: an award winning film composer and musician
- The Wallfisch Band, Monday 24 May; Graham McPhail: music director of AK Barok and baroque violinist
- Josef Špaček with Michael Houstoun, Thursday 8 July; Rae de Lisle, senior lecturer in piano, School of Music, University of Auckland
- Piers Lane and the Doric String Quartet, Monday 13 September; Piers Lane, artistic director, Australian Festival of Chamber Music
- The Song Company, Tuesday 12 October; Dr Indra Hughes: director of Musica Sacra, organist, broadcaster
- Schubertiade, Thursday 4 November; Dr Allan Badley: 18th and 19th century music specialist, publisher, advisor to Naxos
In Palmerston North, the pre-concert talks commence at 6.45pm and are held in the Regency Room in The Regent on Broadway.
In Wellington for the Borodin Quartet's concert, there will be a free pre-concert talk by Roger Smith starting at 6.30pm in the Ilott Theatre. The concert is at 7.30pm in the Town Hall. This talk is part of the 2010 New Zealand International Arts Festival's Chamber Music Weekend.
