April school for string musicians

28 February 2011

CHAMBER MUSIC SCHOOL, 21 -23 APRIL
AROHA STRING QUARTET
Raroa Intermediate School, 37 Haumia Street, Johnsonville, Wellington

Gather your quartet or other string ensemble for an exciting weekend of coaching and performances led by the Aroha String Quartet.

The members of the Aroha String Quartet (Haihong Liu and Beiyi Xue, violins; Zhongxian Jin, viola; Robert Ibell, cello) are all keen teachers as well as passionate performers, and they are eager to share their love of chamber music with string players from around the Wellington region.

Participating groups will have three sessions with members of the quartet, with additional sessions scheduled to give time to put into practice what they have been taught. On the evening of Friday 22nd the Aroha will give a concert and on Saturday 23rd each group will participate in a final concert which family and friends are welcome to attend.

The cost of the course is $120 per musician. This includes coaching, refreshments, and concert admission on Friday night. There may be some financial assistance available for suitable candidates.

To register contact the quartet’s manager, Berys Cuncannon by email at contact@arohaquartet.co.nz or by phone: 021 0383466 or 04 9342066 (evenings only).

Registrations close Thursday 31 March 2011
