The winning Original Composition was by Finn Butler from Dunedin.

The National Semi-Finals of the 2010 NZCT Chamber Music Contest will be held in Wellington on Friday 30 July, in the Ilott Theatre. Six groups will be chosen to compete in the National Final, Saturday 31 July, at the Wellington Town Hall. There will also be a performance of the winning Original Composition at the National Final.

The adjudicators at the National Finals are much-respected NZ musicians Michael Houstoun, Bridget Douglas and Wilma Smith - all of whom were once contestants themselves.
