Rebecca Wang, second violin | Rebecca Wang is 21 years old from Melbourne, currently a third year student studying at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. She began learning violin at the age of 11 and is studying with Wilma Smith, one of New Zealand's most renowned iconic musicians.
During high school, Rebecca had achieved both her Associate Diploma and Licentiate Diploma. In 2013 she took part in a New Zealand tour where the Melbourne Youth Orchestra performed Mahler 2 with the CSO. Rebecca has also participated in Australian Youth Orchestra's National Music Camp. Rebecca has played in the Melbourne Youth Orchestra under the baton of Fabian Russell, University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Monash Academy Orchestra, Melbourne String Ensemble and various local orchestras. She has also been a first prize recipient of the Melbourne University's Chamber Music Competition. Rebecca has been a part of the Mimir Music Festival, which features an outstanding collection of performing artists from the world’s leading orchestras, music schools and concert halls who share a love for chamber music.
