Sergey Malov & Michael Houstoun

6 - 27 June 2012 VIEW TOUR GUIDE

“Sergey Malov was a clear winner within a few pages of his Bartók Second Concerto, slinking fetchingly from its sinuous almost bluesy opening theme to volatile Magyar outbursts.”  William Dart, New Zealand Herald

ARTISTS: Sergey Malov (violin), Michael Houstoun (piano), Ashley Brown* (cello)

*to play in Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington only.

Winner of the 2011 Michael Hill International Violin Competition, Russian-born Sergey Malov teams up with pianist Michael Houstoun for a spellbinding programme of virtuosic repertoire.

Revered pianist Michael Houstoun will once again perform with the winner, while NZTrio cellist Ashley Brown will join them for Beethoven’s ‘Ghost’ Trio in Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington.
