Presented annually by Chamber Music New Zealand, the NZCT Chamber Music Contest is now in its 46th year. The 2011 National Finals will be held in Hamilton at the Academy of Performing Arts, University of Waikato. Two Semi-Final sessions will be held on Friday 15 July. The 12 Semi-Finalists in the Instrumental Performance section will be whittled down to six groups to compete at the National Final on Saturday night.
Six groups from the Semi-Finals compete for top honours at the 46th National Final of the NZCT Chamber Music Contest.
The adjudicators at the National Finals will be the Saguaro Trio, who are touring for CMNZ over 20 July-10 August. The group features internationally acclaimed New Zealand pianist John Chen, who was a member of the winning ensemble at the 2001 Contest.
There will also be a performance of the winning work from the Original Composition section.
