The turn of the (nineteenth) century was a time when artists of all disciplines explored the  full possibilities of Romanticism,  Expressionism and  Impressionism—all of those delicious terms for the time just before the boundaries were completely breached and the twentieth century took over! This programme combines rhapsodic French song with selections from Hugo Wolf's Italian Songbook. Hauntingly beautiful solo piano works by Berg and Scriabin complete the programme.
