Goeknil Meryem Biner soprano

Goeknil Meryem Biner and Tom McGrath first toured for Chamber Music New Zealand in 2005, with their Scenes of Childhood programme.

Goeknil was born in Munich and is of Turkish descent—she and Tom met at the Richard Strauss Konservatorium in Munich and moved together to New Zealand.

Tom is currently Teaching Fellow in Piano Accompaniment at Otago University.  He returned to New Zealand in 2003 having completed post-graduate studies at the Richard Strauss Konservatorium in solo piano and piano accompaniment.
